Granfondo Alta Langa 19 Luglio 09 Appuntamento a Bossolasco domenica 19 luglio 2009 per la terza edizione della Granfondo Alta Langa. Granfondo ciclistica organizzata dall'associazione FAUSTO COPPI ON THE ROAD in collaborazione con la Comunitŕ Montana ALTA LANGA. Partenza e arrivo a Bossolasco , 125 chilometri per un dislivello di 2000 metri lungo un percorso fra le colline e i vigneti, nello splendore dell’alta Langa.
“The Climbs of the champions” is a circular route on public roads (municipal, provincial and regional roads) which are subject to the rules of the highway code. You can pit your skills against from 1 up to 6 climbs with a high difficulty level.
Here the hills start turning into mountains, their woods are silent and resound with the wild spirit of this place: Welcome to the Higher Langa, which are the lungs of a land made up of thousands of different colours, flavours and emotions.
The gentle slopes of the lower hills where the great local wines are produced are just a pleasant memory: here the roads climb up the steepest slopes and the narrowest passages through thick woods, and invite you to cover them with daring and respect.
These roads offer you challenging climbs and thrilling descents, gentle stretches and sudden turns. You will be rewarded with the enchanting and wild landscapes that surprise you around every curve and the little villages on the hilltops, which wait patiently for visitors.
That is our challenge for you: a ring path with the six “climbs of the champions”, where each climb has been dedicated to the memory of a great climber. Bartali, Coppi, Pantani, Gaul, Anquetil and Bobet: to racing cycle lovers, these names sound like the lines of a poem to be recited in paradise.
